Key Responsibilities
- Act as a global SME for multiple compute platforms, providing design and consultancy services across the firm
- Engineer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux OS environments (CentOS7+, RHEL8+, Ubuntu20.04+), ensuring high availability and security
- Automate infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (Packer, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab)
- Oversee storage and data protection platforms such as Pure, NetApp, S3, Rubrik, and Commvault
- Manage and maintain HashiCorp Consul and Vault for identity and access management
- Collaborate with global development, infrastructure, and security teams to optimise performance and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve L3 technical issues, while maintaining high-quality documentation for L1/L2 support teams
- Work with Kubernetes (RKE/EKS) to deploy and manage containerised applications
- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance infrastructure automation and operational efficiency
Key Requirements
- Strong expertise in Linux OS engineering, troubleshooting, and performance tuning across virtual and bare-metal environments
- 5+ years of experience working in high-performance, mission-critical computing environments, ideally within financial services or trading firms
- Proven development skills in at least one programming language (Python preferred) for automation and systems integration
- Hands-on experience with cloud environments and public cloud architectures, particularly security controls and services
- Experience with storage solutions, backup tools, and data protection strategies
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive solutions
- Experience with configuration management tools
- (Preferred) Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter/ESXi on Dell/HPE platforms
- (Preferred) Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Rsyslog
