Our client, a leading global trading firm, is looking for an experienced Storage Engineer to join their Systems team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the existing storage infrastructure and designing, automating, and managing future storage solutions to support the firm's extensive research environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a small team focused on HPC storage and play a key role in shaping the direction of storage solutions at the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and design various storage solutions to support trading strategies and research
• Explore and test new storage solutions to enhance performance and usability
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to storage, OS, and networking
• Develop tools to optimise performance and monitoring of storage clusters
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in HPC-like environments with large-scale storage deployments (1PB+)
• Deep knowledge of distributed file systems for large-scale cluster computing (Lustre, CephFS, GPFS, etc.)
• Strong understanding of Linux software RAID, ZFS, and other Linux filesystems
• Extensive experience with Linux troubleshooting and NFS
• Proficient in Python and shell scripting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve problems and manage time efficiently
• Passion for exploring and experimenting with technology in spare time
