Our client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join their team in New York. This role involves providing technical support and operations for all hardware and connectivity, closely collaborating with Infrastructure and Development teams. The ideal candidate is a self-directed engineer who can work both independently and within a broader team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, user accounts, trading environments, operating systems, and mobility
• Identify, diagnose, research, track, and resolve technical problems, escalating when necessary
• Manage incident response, coordinating with third parties or other IT groups as needed
• Deliver excellent customer service experiences for all end users, traders, and senior leadership
• Deploy, manage, and document a wide variety of devices and applications
• Engage in technical collaboration with other Infrastructure groups and Business IT teams
• Monitor incident response, change management, disaster recovery, and design review processes
• Provide comprehensive reporting and documentation
• Participate in weekend shifts approximately once every 10 weeks, with compensatory time off

Key Requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally from a Linux-centric environment
• Solid understanding of operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux
• Good understanding of network technologies, including Cisco CLI and the TCP/IP protocol
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
• Experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines: platform, Linux, Windows, network, storage, and database
• Automation mindset with the ability to develop and implement automated solutions
• Proven ability to build strong partnerships with business stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new and changing technical environments
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Computer Science or a related field
• (Preferred) Storage-centric engineering experience
• (Preferred) Database-centric operations experience
