Are you a Network Engineer passionate about tackling complex issues and enhancing network efficiency? Our client, a prominent global market maker, is seeking a skilled Low Latency Network Engineer to join their innovative team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the networks that support their cutting-edge proprietary trading systems. Your contributions to designing, optimising, and maintaining globally distributed networks will ensure traders and engineers achieve peak performance, directly impacting the firm's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to maintain a high-frequency trading environment
- Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance global network infrastructure
- Identify, design, and implement low latency network optimisations
- Automate and streamline network infrastructure processes
- Assist with planned network upgrades, migrations, expansions, and hardware/software updates
- Ensure the proper functioning of WAN networks across global data centres and colocations
- Contribute to capacity planning, connectivity improvements, and traffic flow optimisation
- Support the standardisation of environments and the implementation of Infrastructure as Code principles
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience with low latency financial trading networks
- Proficiency in network performance, monitoring, and capacity planning
- Expertise in LAN/WAN networking and protocols such as TCP/UDP, OSPF, BGP, and multicast
- Experience with Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto network equipment
- Strong knowledge of network security and firewall management
- Proficiency in Python for network automation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with low-latency networking, configuration management tools, time series databases, and centralised logging systems
- (Preferred) Familiarity with network transport and routing protocols
- (Preferred) Knowledge of network monitoring and alerting tools
