[c. £150-200k Comp Package | Hybrid Working - 4 days in office]

Our client, a financial services firm specialising in quantitative investing and institutional services, is seeking a motivated Platform Automation Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team in London. The successful candidate will drive innovation across the technology platform using Infrastructure as Code and automation techniques to provide developers with a stable and efficient environment!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the growing AWS footprint, re-architecting as necessary to ensure IaC consistency
  • Design and implement secure and cost-effective AWS solutions
  • Contribute ideas during discussions on problems, solutions, and projects
  • Uphold global standards, recommending improvements and proposing viable solutions
  • Champion automation across the Infrastructure team, promoting adoption and efficiency
  • Be a key stakeholder in the automation strategy (to reduce toil), bringing ideas to fruition through hands-on action
  • Provide automated tooling for self-service provisioning of compute and network resources
  • Identify opportunities to increase automation across the wider technology group
  • Enhance platform visibility through increased telemetry and monitoring tooling
  • Contribute to the Linux provisioning pipeline and robust post-provisioning configuration management (Ansible)

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years' enterprise experience with AWS, driving change through automation
  • In-depth experience with CI/CD pipelines and a propensity to challenge the norm
  • Proven experience designing and automating AWS infrastructure for critical applications
  • Knowledge of AWS services (VPC, EC2, EKS, ECS, Route53, IAM, ASG, S3, SQS, RDS, Control Tower, DirectConnect, Transit Gateway, CloudFront)
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration using Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability practices
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of Linux distributions (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and scripting (Python/Bash)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multiple stakeholders
