Our client, a leading fintech company, is seeking an (InfoSec) Data Governance Specialist to support and manage all group-wide data governance activities. The successful candidate will lead and manage organisation-wide data governance initiatives, focusing on improving the quality and protection of sensitive data and information assets. This is an exciting opportunity to ensure adherence to the enterprise data governance framework, achieving the required level of consistency and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the enterprise-wide data governance framework, focusing on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data through changes in standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, and related tools
  • Facilitate communication between Data Domains and technology teams to ensure data-related business requirements for governing data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood
  • Develop and maintain the inventory (data catalogue) of the enterprise data maps, including authoritative systems and owners
  • Define performance indicators and quality metrics, ensuring compliance with data-related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Collaborate with and educate diverse teams across technology and the business to embed good data governance practices into key processes
  • Contribute to security and data compliance initiatives


Key Requirements:

  • Practical knowledge of data governance and management lifecycle, methodologies, techniques, tools, and best practices
  • Operational experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining a data governance framework, ideally in a technology or finance environment
  • Understanding of data-related government regulatory requirements, emerging trends, and issues
  • Experience in providing tangible, implementable guidance in areas such as data management, data access, metadata management, and data quality
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change, and performance measurement
  • Experience in designing and delivering awareness and training to support understanding and adoption of key concepts and practices
  • Strong experience in Data Cataloguing using software tools (e.g., Data Hub, Informatics, Collibra, Atalan, Castor)
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving and dynamic environment, and to have challenging conversations and hold people accountable
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with various teams across the organisation
  • (Preferred) Experience in a fintech or financial services environment
