Our client, a leading global alternative investment firm with over $63 billion in assets, is actively seeking a Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join their innovative technology team in London. Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and maintaining secure and robust Windows-based infrastructure to handle large data volumes and diverse technology estate loads
  • Leading migration strategies for Windows-based applications and services
  • Streamlining on-prem stack integrations with hybrid infrastructure setups
  • Advocating for and implementing "Infrastructure as Code" principles using tools like PowerShell
  • Automating processes to reduce manual efforts in managing large Windows-based systems
  • Independently and collaboratively seeking improvements in infrastructure reliability, availability, and performance


Key Requirements:

  • Expert-level proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based systems, including AD, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, and Exchange
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly for generating and distributing PowerShell modules
  • Exposure to configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, DSC, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Broad understanding of compute, SANs, networking (including Fibre Channel), firewalls, and data centre technologies
  • Proven ability to innovate, grasp new concepts quickly, and think outside the box
  • Commitment to improving system availability, security, and resilience
  • Excellent communication skills for building positive, collaborative relationships across teams and regions
  • Advanced scripting/coding skills (Python, Golang, Shell)
  • Experience with observability systems (Prometheus, ELK, Jaeger)
  • Knowledge of distributed data platforms (Kafka, Flink, Airflow)
  • Broad understanding of network, server virtualization, and storage technologies
