Job Description

Our client, a leading global investment firm, is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team in New York. The successful candidate will support all hardware and connectivity, working closely with Infrastructure and Development teams. This role offers the opportunity for a self-driven engineer to make a significant impact both independently and within a broader team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address technical issues related to hardware, software, user accounts, trading environments, and operating systems
• Provide on-call support for critical production applications, ensuring prompt issue resolution
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems, escalating when necessary
• Develop automation to manage and monitor infrastructure services and applications
• Enhance the reliability, availability, and performance of infrastructure and related applications
• Monitor system health, availability, and latency of live services
• Deliver exceptional customer service experiences for all end users, traders, and senior leadership
• Manage incident response for critical firm-wide issues, coordinating with relevant teams
• Deploy, manage, and document various devices and applications
• Collaborate with other Infrastructure groups and Business IT teams as needed

Key Requirements:

• Expertise in operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux
• Proficient scripting skills in Python and Bash
• Experience with automation tools and techniques
• Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to build effective partnerships with business stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Computer Science or a related field
• (Preferred) Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes
• (Preferred) Experience in a Linux-centric environment
• (Preferred) Familiarity with multiple programming languages focused on automation
