Our client, a leading global shipping specialist, is seeking an innovative and experienced End User Support/Compute Engineer to deliver exceptional white-glove support to their users. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in modern desktop management, cloud services, and scripting, with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Manage and maintain desktops and laptops, including imaging, deployment, patching, and upgrades
  • Administer and configure cloud services like Microsoft 365, Azure, and Microsoft Intune for device and app management
  • Implement and support BYOD policies, ensuring secure access and data protection
  • Automate routine tasks with scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with teams to understand user needs and implement productivity-enhancing solutions
  • Provide training and documentation on new technologies, best practices, and cyber threats
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in end-user computing and desktop support
  • Support and manage messaging, voice, and video conference platforms

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years in end-user computing, desktop support, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, including deployment and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 suite, Azure services, and Microsoft Intune
  • Familiarity with MDM solutions and BYOD policies
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats (e.g., phishing, malware, ransomware, APTs)
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • (Preferred) Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and VDI solutions
  • (Preferred) Knowledge of modern desktop management tools (e.g., Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Workspace ONE)
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with cloud-based desktop services (e.g., Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop)
