Are you a seasoned Security Architect with a passion for cutting-edge technology? Our client, a prominent fintech firm known for driving innovation in the financial sector, is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to join their forward-thinking team in London. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and operating secure services on a global scale, working closely with engineering teams to build high-performance, cloud-native architectures. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the security landscape at a company celebrated as one of the Forbes Cloud 100.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deeply understand design proposals and assess architectural security
- Develop secure architectural patterns and define control requirements, focusing on reducing risks through effective design and architecture
- Oversee the integration of security measures into cloud-native applications, ensuring they align with secure architectural principles
- Design and enforce policy as code, creating templates and modules that secure infrastructure across global deployments
- Provide expert guidance on secure cloud architectures, with a particular focus on application security and integration architecture
- Act as the subject matter expert on cloud security, ensuring security measures are integrated into every layer of the infrastructure
- Oversee and influence the application security architecture, leveraging a background in software security, possibly from a pen testing route
Key Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience working with major cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, Event-driven/Serverless, SaaS)
- Strong background in Application Security Architecture, ideally with experience in software security and penetration testing
- Expertise in AWS and Azure, with a strong command of cloud-native security principles
- In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP stack, alongside application and infrastructure protocols
- Comprehensive understanding of security principles, control frameworks (e.g., NIST), and threat modeling, particularly within cloud environments
- Experience in managing cloud identities and applying cloud-native architecture best practices
- Solid grasp of cryptographic methods and their application in cloud environments
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and CI/CD methodologies
- Degree in Computer Science, Cyber-Security, or a closely related field (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD)
- (Preferred) Demonstrable experience in fintech or technology sectors, ideally in a high-paced, cloud-native environment
