Are you a skilled Network Engineer eager to work in a dynamic, high-frequency trading environment? Our client, a renowned proprietary trading firm, is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their specialised team in London. This role is all-encompassing, involving operational support, colo design, data centre build-out, and network engineering across the EMEA region. The successful candidate will work on high-performance networks, balancing complex priorities, and providing comprehensive network support for production, office, and end-user environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the EMEA working group and global Networks team to monitor and troubleshoot network issues
  • Provide network support for production, office, and end-user environments
  • Perform moves, adds, and changes in the network infrastructure
  • Conduct market connectivity tests and manage circuit migrations
  • Offer support and technical expertise in network design and implementation
  • Drive and guide network projects and initiatives across the EMEA infrastructure
  • Participate in colo design, data centre build-out, and network engineering for EMEA and other regions as needed


Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience working with complex, high-performance networks, including data centres and trading facilities
  • Significant knowledge of client-server architectures and network design
  • Ability to work closely with traders and technologists to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Proficiency in Arista EOS and Cisco NX-OS/IOS
  • Understanding of Layer 1 devices such as Metamako or Exablaze
  • Knowledge of routing protocols, including OSPF, MSDP, and PIM
  • Expertise in BGP and multicast
  • Familiarity with VPN configuration and troubleshooting
  • Good knowledge of Linux systems and automation
  • Proficiency in using network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Wireshark, and SNMP
  • Understanding of network security and firewalls
  • (Preferred) CCNP certification and systems administration experience
  • (Preferred) Strong scripting skills, especially in Python
