Are you a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security specialist looking to join a global alternative investment fund manager? Our client, a leading trading firm, is seeking a seasoned Senior Security Engineer to join their team in London. This role offers a unique opportunity to deploy and manage security platforms and tools commonly used in the financial and tech industries, ensuring top-level security across their operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and manage Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) systems, with a focus on Rapid 7 and CISCO technologies
  • Utilise automation skills to streamline security processes and enhance efficiency across both Windows and Linux environments
  • Provide hands-on management across all levels of the Cyber Security stack, including GRC-related tasks
  • Collaborate with various teams, including legal, compliance, and global working groups, to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of operations
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, emerging technologies, and AI tools to continually improve the security posture
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation and policies
  • Independently engage with senior stakeholders, including the CEO, COO, and other high-level executives, to report on security issues and drive initiatives
  • Take on a Greenfield element, bringing innovation and forward-thinking to the security strategy


Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Cyber Security, with exposure to financial markets and a deep understanding of the industry
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a technology field from a top university (or equivalent international education)
  • Experience with tools and platforms used in the Cyber Security industry, including Rapid 7 and CISCO
  • Excellent understanding of network security concepts, application security, and cyber tools
  • Strong contacts and knowledge within the cyber security industry
  • Proficiency in automation and developer tools, with the ability to pick up new skills quickly
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak intelligently and clearly to high-level stakeholders
  • Independent thinker with the gravitas to confidently engage with senior management and lead working group meetings
  • Ability to work long hours on-site in a fast-paced environment, managing both hands-on tasks and strategic initiatives
