Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert, collaborating directly with front-office teams to define, understand, and support new investment data needs and capabilities
  • Curate disparate data from external sources and prepare it for integration within the investment desk, navigating the challenges presented by various datasets
  • Conduct exploratory analysis across a wide range of industry data sets spanning multiple asset classes
  • Optimise and manage both proprietary and vendor data platforms to enhance workflows and performance
  • Implement data automation strategies to improve the efficiency of the firm's data platform
  • Develop and enforce data governance methodologies, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices
  • Work alongside data users to monitor and refine data quality rules for greater accuracy and integrity
  • Perform metadata analysis and manage data cataloguing to support data discoverability
  • Support the ongoing development and operation of the firm's advanced data platform


Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data-centric role within a recognised fund, asset manager, or a quantitative data vendor/provider, with a focus on investment desk analytics
  • Top 1% academically: First-class degree in a numerical or data-driven subject from a Russell Group university (or international equivalent), with a minimum of 3 A/A* A-levels
  • Buy-side front office expertise and seasoned experience managing relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience using both in data manipulation and automation (experience with Apache Spark is preferred)
  • Demonstrable product knowledge in listed derivatives, macro equity, and an understanding of how these instruments function in the markets
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify and manage complex data challenges
  • Intellectual curiosity with a solution-oriented mindset and a drive for excellence, accuracy, and attention to detail
