Are you a seasoned Network Security Engineer looking to play a critical role in a global trading firm? Our client, a leader in systematic and quantitative strategies, is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer in London. You'll design, implement, and maintain advanced network security solutions, working closely with global teams to ensure a secure and resilient infrastructure. This role is the first network security hire in the EMEA region, offering significant growth opportunities as the team expands!

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with global security and internal teams to gather requirements, implement solutions, and support a secure global network environment
• Design, configure, maintain, and upgrade Cisco ISE components, with a focus on IEEE 802.1x, TrustSec, Guest Access, and PKI & Certificates
• Troubleshoot, assess, and implement security controls including firewalls, IPS, and VPN concentrators
• Lead and mentor the firewall team, coordinating activities to enhance security posture
• Enhance monitoring and automation processes, utilising coding and scripting to streamline security operations
• Provide support for network security incidents, including on-call, night, and weekend work as needed (usually once per month)

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a senior network security engineer with strong expertise in architecture, implementation, and support of network security solutions
• In-depth knowledge of Cisco ISE, including design and support
• Strong background in firewalls, client VPNs, and IPS technologies
• Proficiency in scripting and coding for automation purposes
• Full understanding of network concepts, including TCP, UDP, IP, the OSI Model, Layer 1/2/3, etc.
• Ability to analyse network packet captures to investigate security incidents and diagnose network issues
• (Preferred) Experience working with global teams and across multiple time zones
• (Preferred) A background in network engineering with a passion for security
• (Preferred) Enthusiasm for technology, with a personal interest in tinkering and automation
