Our client, a cutting-edge global financial technology firm, is seeking a Senior Storage Strategist to spearhead the development and maintenance of their advanced storage solutions. This role involves guiding the future strategy for storage systems, working alongside various engineering teams to support the firm’s large-scale computational needs, including AI and high-frequency trading operations!
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of a robust and scalable storage infrastructure that can support the company’s growth, focusing on performance and reliability
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to ensure the smooth integration of storage solutions into HPC environments
• Anticipate future storage demands and create long-term roadmaps, ensuring the infrastructure aligns with industry trends
• Research and implement innovative storage technologies that drive efficiency and scalability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage, network, and OS-related issues
• Ensure storage systems integrate seamlessly with existing HPC clusters and are compatible with current hardware and software setups
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to internal teams, overseeing the execution of major storage projects
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide critical support for urgent storage-related incidents
What You Bring...
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale storage systems within HPC environments
• Proficiency in distributed file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, WEKA, S3, or CEPH
• Strong leadership, with experience guiding cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships
• Deep knowledge of storage industry developments and the latest enterprise storage technologies
• Proven ability to lead the development of advanced storage solutions and oversee engineering teams
• In-depth understanding of server architecture, performance optimisation, and hardware troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Python and UNIX/Linux shell scripting
• (Preferred) Prior experience in financial or high-frequency trading environments
