Our client, a global leader in quantitative trading, is looking for a Data Production/Operations Engineer to support live trading teams, optimise data pipelines, and ensure the accuracy of mission-critical datasets. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise data pipelines, ensuring smooth onboarding, classification, and reconciliation of diverse datasets
  • Monitor and debug live data flows, identifying anomalies and tracing issues back to their source through structured problem-solving
  • Develop automation tools to streamline ETL processes, enhance data quality checks, and support research workflows
  • Work with trading and research teams to clean, validate, and enrich financial data, improving analytical capabilities
  • Liaise with external data providers, brokers, and exchanges to ensure seamless data acquisition and integrity
  • Support real-time trading operations, troubleshooting data-related issues in a high-speed, high-stakes environment


What You Bring...

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data operations, or data science, OR a degree in a relevant field
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in data manipulation and automation
  • Comfortable working with Linux command-line tools and managing structured SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL)
  • Experience working with ETL pipelines and handling large-scale datasets
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, supporting time-sensitive data operations in a live trading environment
  • Ability to navigate and debug financial data sources (e.g. Refinitiv, Bloomberg, S&P) is highly desirable
  • A detail-oriented mindset, capable of diagnosing data discrepancies and ensuring high data integrity
