Infrastructure & AI Security Architect
Job Description
[Up to c. $450k Comp Package | Hybrid Working]
Role Overview
We’re representing one of the world’s most technically advanced investment and research firms, now seeking a senior Infrastructure & AI Security Architect to strengthen its global information security foundations. Operating at the intersection of infrastructure engineering, security architecture, and AI enablement, this role will shape the security posture of the firm’s compute and research platforms - spanning traditional systems, distributed AI environments, and next-generation data services. This is a strategic yet hands-on position, reporting within the core information security function but engaging directly with senior technology and engineering leaders across the business. You’ll set direction for infrastructure security initiatives, guide architectural decisions across Linux and cloud environments, and drive secure design for emerging AI workloads...
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive infrastructure security architecture across hybrid and distributed environments, ensuring resilience and scalability
- Lead security design reviews for new infrastructure, research systems, and AI platforms, embedding modern security principles from inception
- Partner with infrastructure and SRE teams to strengthen controls for identity, access, cryptography, and system integrity
- Spearhead Zero Trust adoption across Linux and enterprise environments, integrating network segmentation, strong authentication, and adaptive access policies
- Develop and maintain security tooling and automation to enhance visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Lead initiatives around AI and LLM infrastructure security, developing architectures that balance innovation with data protection and model integrity
- Provide expert guidance on cryptographic standards, secure communication protocols (TLS, OIDC, FIDO2), and certificate lifecycle management
- Influence security strategy across engineering teams, aligning design decisions with risk management and regulatory objectives
- Act as a technical authority during audits, architecture reviews, and incident investigations, bridging engineering execution and executive-level reporting
- Stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement in the firm’s infrastructure and AI security capabilities
What You’ll Bring...
- 8+ years’ experience in infrastructure, site reliability, or security architecture roles within complex, large-scale technical environments
- Deep understanding of core security concepts, including authentication, cryptography, access control, and secure protocol design
- Proven experience securing Linux-based and hybrid cloud infrastructures, including containerised or distributed compute environments
- Hands-on familiarity with Zero Trust models, privileged access design, and enterprise identity systems (AD, Entra ID, PKI)
- Strong programming or scripting skills - ideally in Python or Go - with a focus on building scalable automation and security tooling
- Understanding of application and AI security, including model governance, data privacy, and emerging risks in machine learning systems
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a genuine enthusiasm for exploring new domains and technologies
- (Preferred) Background in financial services, research computing, or other regulated, high-performance environments
