Role Overview

We’re partnering with a leading global investment firm to hire a Production Engineer into their New York technology function. This role sits at the interface between infrastructure and the wider engineering community, ensuring production services run smoothly while driving improvements through automation and process optimisation. You’ll be part of a team that underpins critical trading and business systems, working closely with engineers across infrastructure, security, and platform teams. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day triage of production issues, ensuring rapid and effective resolution for users
• Identify repetitive pain points and automate workflows wherever possible to minimise manual overhead
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to design and embed improvements to core processes and services
• Uphold the firm’s secure-by-default principles by proactively detecting and addressing operational gaps
• Analyse production trends to highlight recurring problems and help management prioritise enhancements
• Produce clear, accessible documentation and keep stakeholders informed on progress, risks, and next steps

What You’ll Bring...

• 3+ years of experience supporting production-grade infrastructure and services
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and exposure to container platforms (Docker or Kubernetes)
• Programming or scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code practices (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) with a willingness to expand knowledge
• Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub, GitHub Actions, or TeamCity)
• Understanding of observability tools and metrics-driven monitoring, ideally with DataDog
• Strong communication skills, able to collaborate across multiple teams and explain technical concepts clearly
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach, with a track record of ownership from issue identification through to resolution
