Senior AV & Collaboration Systems Engineer
Job Description
[Up to c. $275k Comp Package | Likely On-Site Working]
Role Overview
We’re supporting a leading quantitative trading firm as it strengthens its enterprise collaboration and conferencing capabilities. This hire will take technical ownership of the firm’s global AV and unified communications estate - ensuring meeting environments, hybrid collaboration spaces and large-scale internal events operate seamlessly. This is a hands-on engineering role, not a ticket-driven support function. You’ll design and evolve AV architecture, build automation and integrations, and proactively eliminate recurring issues through thoughtful engineering. The environment is fast-paced, technically rigorous and highly collaborative, requiring someone who thrives on precision, reliability and continuous improvement...
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy and maintain enterprise-grade AV and conferencing systems across multiple offices
- Act as the technical authority for complex AV/UC issues, owning problems through root cause and permanent resolution
- Engineer control system enhancements, automation workflows and platform integrations
- Administer and optimise unified communications platforms, including video conferencing and telephony environments
- Analyse system logs, telemetry and usage patterns to drive reliability improvements
- Support high-visibility live and hybrid events with strong operational discipline
- Conduct preventative maintenance and structured room health reviews
- Evaluate emerging technologies and ensure alignment with internal standards
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking and external vendors to deliver integrated solutions
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and system standards
What You’ll Bring…
- 5-9 years’ experience delivering AV and unified communications engineering within complex enterprise environments
- Deep understanding of AV signal flow, DSP architecture, control processors and conferencing ecosystems
- Strong troubleshooting capability across hardware, codecs, networking layers and collaboration platforms
- Demonstrated experience writing or modifying code for automation or control logic (e.g., Lua, Python, Crestron, REST/JSON integrations)
- Solid grounding in networking fundamentals relevant to AV (VoIP, SIP, H.323, WebRTC, AVoIP concepts)
- Experience interpreting rack elevations, schematics and system diagrams
- Calm, methodical problem-solving approach, particularly in live production scenarios
- Strong communication skills and ability to support both technical and business stakeholders
- Willingness to work hands-on with hardware installations when required
- (Desirable) Advanced Zoom Rooms or Microsoft Teams Rooms administration experience
- (Desirable) DSP configuration expertise (QSC, Biamp, Shure or similar platforms)
- (Desirable) AVIXA CTS-D / CTS-I or comparable certification
