Job Description

Our client in London, one of the finest financial institutions in the City and respected worldwide, is looking to fill this highly strategic position.

The successful candidate will define, implement, and operate several policies and procedures for, but not limited to, business performance, programme management, innovation, and governance forums across the entire Information Security function. You will be responsible for the cyber security strategy and roadmap, in addition to the business management of the team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the CISO's Business Management function and work closely with central operations function
  • Govern policies, procedures, and standards for business performance, programme management, and enterprise agility for the infosec function
  • Develop the infosec strategy and roadmap in conjunction with the respective cyber security control owners
  • Work with the Cyber Security Program Director to ensure the delivery of the program in line with the strategy and roadmaps
  • Advocate adoption of technology innovations and modern delivery techniques to foster collaboration and agility and to improve customer experience
  • Define and establish governance forums and makes decision on behalf of the infosec CIO, if needed
  • Managee performance, development, and wellbeing of a multi-disciplinary team providing services across the entire function
  • Own the Cyber Security service catalogue and be responsible for the maintenance of it and the associated reporting to meet governance requirements
  • Own monthly services meetings with the respective business unit(s) and CIOs
  • Lead and co-ordinate the preparation of the Cyber Security reporting requirements (service meeting, important metrics, KRIs, etc)

Technical Experience and Qualifications Required

Job Function knowledge

  • Strategy; tech, programme, and integration governance; PMO; data analysis; and information management. Strong analytical, problem solving, collaboration, and technical skills
  • Experience in strategy and roadmap development. Exceptionally good technical security knowledge and architecture/engineering; critical thinking
  • Experience leading and managing teams in ambiguity in highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organisational boundaries, build relationships, and import and export talent and ideas to achieve a broader organisational goal

Business and Sector Expertise

  • Significant experience of managing business operations in a fintech/security function or a similar organisation
  • Experience with growing and transforming technology organisations with scaled agile frameworks
  • Proven track record in the design and implementation of business policies and procedures
  • Sound intuition for business, a good organisational awareness, and strategic approach to problem solving
  • Security architecture or engineering experience with deep technical security knowledge

Leadership and Management Experience

  • Strong leadership skills in managing individuals and leading high performing teams
  • Experience of defining strategic goals for functions/divisions and systems for measuring goal attainment
  • Experience successfully managing complex transformations, including but not limited to: HR, finances, operations, and/or strategies
  • Finding opportunities to partner with external Technology organisations, developing the approach and negotiating terms
  • Experience of establishing an Agile culture

Personal Skills and Capabilities

  • Gravitas to communicate with board members and senior executives
  • Ability to influence across multiple divisions, businesses, and functions
  • Experience of successfully planning and delivering large scale complex technology integration and transformation programmes, with a proven track record of establishing meaningful relationships with the executive leadership
  • Frequently keeps up to date with the latest industry developments
