Step up as an HPC Cloud Engineer with a top-tier trading firm, celebrated for over 25 years of technology-driven trading across diverse asset classes and strategies. This isn't about following the crowd, it's about challenging the status quo. The opportunity? Craft high-performance cloud solutions for trading and analytical workloads, honing operating systems, and cloud infrastructure for peak performance and network latency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technology teams across the firm to design and implement high-performance cloud solutions for trading and analytical workloads
- Ensure the optimal use of resources, including CPUs, GPUs, memory, and network bandwidth, in the design and implementation of cloud solutions
- Develop and implement automation to improve the efficiency and reliability of cloud-based infrastructure (previous AWS experience is preferred)
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and cloud best practices, and evaluate their potential use in the firm’s cloud solutions
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing low-latency systems and workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud-based infrastructure and systems
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science required; post-graduate education preferred
- 5+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Expertise in designing high-throughput, low-latency cloud network architectures, and optimising AWS's VPC network
- Deep knowledge of Linux kernel bypass techniques, DMA, DPDK, and Nitro hypervisor tuning
- Proficient in optimising systems in a Kubernetes environment
- Proven experience in large-scale cloud deployments for both stateless and stateful services
- Security-first mindset with a thorough understanding of firm-wide security policies and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sensible decisions in high-pressure situations
