Job Description

Our client is a leading trading firm that values innovation and seeks an elite Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team. The successful candidate will collaborate with talented colleagues to drive the global WAN strategy and manage low-latency networks, enabling 24/7 trading and research systems. This position requires both project management and deep technical skills, offering broad responsibilities and the freedom to analyse and solve problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and deploy large-scale networks for trading operations
- Manage the full lifecycle of WAN optimisation
- Onboard new markets and offices onto the global network
- Troubleshoot complex network issues impacting performance
- Promote network reliability through monitoring and documentation
Key Requirements:
- 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of layer 2/3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, PIM, and IGMP
- Experience with network equipment from vendors like Cisco and Arista
- Broad networking troubleshooting abilities, including Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi, multicast market data distribution, and global WAN
- Experience in designing enterprise networks, capacity planning, and full lifecycle project management
- Familiarity with packet decoding and analysis tools (tcpdump, Wireshark)
- Understanding of power consumption and cooling in data centre environments
- Knowledge of fibre optics technology and cabling standards
- Experience with Unix/Linux command line and networking stack
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and NAT
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related IT field
- (Desired) Experience managing Arista, Cisco, and other common networking devices daily
