Job Description
Opportunity to join a leading digital asset platform which is expanding its global operations. As a DevOps Engineer working withing a hybrid environment, you’ll work collaboratively on cutting-edge projects, helping product teams to deliver new services.
Role Responsibilities:
- Build and manage modern, automated, cloud-native, continuously-delivered infrastructure and application pipeline
- Work with other DevOps engineers to develop and codify shared tooling for repeatable build and deploy patterns for use across the organisation
- Migrate legacy infrastructure code and delivery pipelines to modular structure
- Understand existing infrastructure as code; pro-actively contribute to improvements
- Work within product teams to deliver functionality in a repeatable and automated manner
- Participate in weekly team prioritisation, release, and change management meetings
- Set up and help achieve service level objectives and indicators for infrastructure and application components
- Participate in on-call rotation, supporting hybrid AWS/data centre infrastructure
- Collaborate closely with development teams in our fast-paced delivery environment
- Identify new tooling that reduces toil based on organisational and technical gaps
Technical Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Experience of technology best practices for building a modern automated platform, belief in full automation, IaC, and measuring key performance indicators
- Ability to design and document cloud native architectural patterns and take ownership
- Financial services background or similar useful, especially with regard to security, compliance, and audit
- Good understanding of technologies and experience in building a highly scalable and fault tolerant systems in hybrid environments
- Self-starter, capable of working without direction and able to deliver projects from scratch within, at times, unstructured environments
- Experience with migrations (on-prem to cloud, code bases, technology)
- Hands on ability with IaC cloud build and management tools
- Container management and container orchestration expertise
- Understanding and ideas for successful monitoring and alerting
- Strong messaging systems knowledge, preferably Kafka, alternatively Solace/RabbitMQ/AWS Kinesis
- Ability to communicate to different people, have fresh ideas and be pragmatic
- Practical usage of some or all the relevant tools listed below
