Are you a software engineer who thrives on solving performance-critical problems at the intersection of data, UI, and trading infrastructure? Our client - a global leader in quantitative trading - is looking for a Core Web Engineer to design the tools that power real-time strategy execution and visualisation. You’ll support developers and traders directly, bringing together low-level backend knowledge with intuitive, data-rich UIs. If you’re confident working across Python, C++, and TypeScript - and have experience supporting trading workflows or performance-sensitive systems - this is a rare opportunity to drive real impact in a fast-paced technical environment...
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance UIs and backend systems to support Algo Developers and Traders in executing and monitoring trading strategies
- Build and optimise data pipelines and services to ingest, transform, and visualise large financial datasets in real-time
- Develop and maintain web applications using TypeScript, React, and Redux while also working on backend services in Python and C++
- Create dynamic dashboards and analytical tools using Python’s Dash Plotly
- Iterate on features based on internal and external feedback, ensuring seamless user experiences
- Write, review, and land high-quality code, focusing on both functionality and performance
- Work across different platforms, with strong GUI experience across web, mobile, or desktop applications
What You Bring...
- 5+ years of experience at a top-tier tech company, with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with a deep understanding of computer systems at a low level
- Ability to work flexibly across languages, prioritising clean, maintainable code
- Experience designing and implementing front-end interfaces, with a focus on usability and responsiveness
- React experience is a strong plus but not essential
- Proven ability to iterate on features, incorporating customer and user feedback to drive improvements

- Solid understanding of UNIX operating systems and core computer science principles
- A collaborative mindset, able to contribute effectively within a fast-moving, high-performance team
