We’re representing a leading quantitative research and technology firm, hiring two Kubernetes Software Engineers to expand its London-based developer environments team. The team builds and operates Kubernetes-based development platforms used by engineers across the company, combining deep Kubernetes engineering, software development and SRE-style platform ownership. You’ll work across clusters, operators, APIs, CLIs, authentication, internal services and AI-enabled developer tooling. With direct access to internal users and fast feedback loops, you’ll have a visible impact on the reliability, usability and evolution of the firm’s developer experience...

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, operate and continuously improve Kubernetes-based development environments used across the company
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters, operators and deeper platform integrations
  • Develop internal tooling, including APIs, CLIs and integrations with authentication, AI tools and internal services
  • Design solutions around user requirements, scale, reliability, maintainability and developer experience
  • Apply SRE practices across observability, alerting, troubleshooting and platform reliability
  • Work directly with internal customers in London, gathering feedback and iterating on developer workflows
  • Contribute across Kubernetes engineering, software development and production platform operations

What You’ll Bring...

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering or SRE, including substantial hands-on work with Kubernetes-based production platforms
  • Deep Kubernetes experience beyond deploying applications, including operating or deploying clusters
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and how the platform works under the hood
  • Experience building Kubernetes operators, controllers or deeper platform integrations
  • Strong Go programming skills, ideally across APIs, CLIs, operators or internal platform tooling
  • Strong general software engineering capability, including solution design, testing, debugging and maintainable production code
  • SRE or platform engineering experience across observability, alerting, reliability and production operations
  • Ability to clarify ambiguous requirements and design appropriate technical solutions

  • (Preferred) Experience with remote development environments or internal developer platforms
  • (Preferred) Exposure to AI-enabled developer tooling or coding assistants
