Role Overview
We’re partnered with a multi-strategy hedge fund - a spinout from a major global investment manager - that is scaling its technology foundations to support ambitious growth. As part of this expansion, the firm is hiring multiple engineers to build and evolve the software platforms that power core operational functions. Key Responsibilities
- Engineer software solutions to support operational workflows, including trade capture, settlement, treasury, P&L, and reporting
- Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Compliance to deliver automated, resilient processes
- Integrate with external counterparties and service providers such as prime brokers, custodians, fund administrators, and regulatory platforms
- Design and implement architectures that balance scalability, security, and reliability as the firm grows
- Take ownership across the full SDLC, from design and implementation to deployment and long-term support
- Ensure operational systems achieve high standards for accuracy, and resilience
What You’ll Bring...
- 4+ years’ experience as a software engineer within financial services (greater depth expected for lead positions)
- Solid experience with SQL databases, schema design, and data modelling
- Strong coding skills in Python or Java, with the ability to design maintainable, production-grade software
- Understanding of the trade lifecycle (execution, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation)
- Analytical mindset with excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities, plus an eye for data accuracy
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical discipline
- (Preferred) Knowledge of FIX protocols, SWIFT, or regulatory reporting frameworks
- (Preferred) Exposure to data pipelines, workflow scheduling, or orchestration tools
- (Preferred) Experience working with AWS, GCP, or Azure
