As part of this growth, the firm is hiring a senior-level cloud engineer to play a key role in shaping how public cloud platforms are designed, delivered, and operated across the business. Key Responsibilities
- Design, evolve, and operate scalable public cloud environments that support production-grade applications and data workloads
- Act as a senior technical contributor and mentor within the cloud engineering function, helping raise engineering standards and best practices
- Partner with developers and platform teams to translate application and business requirements into well-architected cloud solutions
- Build and maintain infrastructure using code-first approaches, with automation and repeatability as default principles
- Develop internal self-service tooling and workflows that enable teams to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently
- Ensure cloud services integrate cleanly with on-premise systems, delivering a seamless hybrid experience
- Support container-based platforms, including cluster lifecycle management, application deployment, and platform security
- Embed observability, reliability, and resilience into cloud-hosted systems through monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling
- Contribute to cloud security and governance efforts, ensuring environments meet internal standards and regulatory expectations
- Participate in an on-call rotation, supporting critical systems and driving continuous operational improvement
What You’ll Bring…
- 6-10 years of experience building and operating large-scale infrastructure, with a significant focus on public cloud platforms
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS (Azure exposure beneficial), including core compute, networking, storage, and managed services
- Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, with a track record of designing maintainable, production-ready environments
- Solid experience running container platforms in production, including Kubernetes cluster build-out, upgrades, and workload management
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using languages such as Python and/or Bash
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Strong Linux systems knowledge, particularly in enterprise or RHEL-based environments
- A clear understanding of cloud-native security concepts, including identity, network segmentation, and workload protection
- Experience working in hybrid environments where cloud and on-prem infrastructure must interoperate cleanly
- Exposure to CI/CD tooling and modern delivery pipelines
- The ability to troubleshoot complex systems methodically and communicate solutions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- (Preferred) Experience applying FinOps principles or optimising cloud cost at scale
- (Preferred) Experience supporting data, analytics, or AI/ML workloads in cloud environments
- (Preferred) Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications
