Role Overview
We are partnering with a global multi-asset investment firm to appoint a senior infrastructure leader to define and execute the next phase of its technology evolution. This is a high-impact mandate reporting directly to the Deputy CTO, with close interaction with both the CTO and the firm’s Founder/CIO. The firm operates across complex, latency-sensitive trading environments where infrastructure resilience, performance and automation are mission-critical. This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on technical leadership - overseeing cloud, data centre, office compute, networking and collaboration platforms, while modernising infrastructure through automation and engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute global infrastructure strategy in partnership with senior technology leadership
- Lead and develop a high-calibre infrastructure engineering organisation across cloud, data centre and enterprise platforms
- Own architecture and lifecycle management across compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud environments
- Drive automation-first practices across provisioning, deployment, monitoring and operations
- Ensure high availability, performance optimisation and capacity planning across latency-sensitive systems
- Oversee infrastructure modernisation initiatives spanning Linux platforms, Kubernetes adoption and cloud expansion
- Maintain operational excellence across office technology, collaboration systems and user compute
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and commercial negotiations
- Implement robust monitoring, observability and incident management frameworks
- Act as senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and performance challenges
- Engage directly with executive stakeholders to align infrastructure capabilities with trading and research demands
What You’ll Bring…
- Significant experience (10+ years) leading large-scale infrastructure engineering functions within complex technical environments
- Strong academic background (A-Levels & Degree) in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
- Deep technical expertise across Linux platforms, data centre environments, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (Azure or comparable)
- Strong understanding of compute, storage and network architecture in performance-sensitive settings
- Proven experience driving automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
- Background spanning both enterprise infrastructure and user compute/support environments
- Demonstrated ability to modernise legacy platforms and elevate engineering maturity
- Strong programming or scripting capability to support infrastructure automation
- Executive-level stakeholder engagement experience, with confidence operating alongside CTO-level leadership
- Proven people leadership track record, including team building, mentoring and performance management
- Ability to manage competing priorities across a broad technical estate
- (Preferred) Experience within financial services or similarly demanding performance-driven environments
