The successful individual will bring several previously distinct engineering capabilities into a cohesive platform organisation, creating the strategy, leadership structure and engineering culture required to support a highly demanding trading and investment environment...
Key Responsibilities

- Build and mature a Kubernetes-first internal developer platform that improves deployment consistency, engineering productivity and speed of delivery
- Introduce Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, CI/CD and automated lifecycle management across provisioning, configuration, deployment and platform operations
- Modernise legacy and hybrid environments while balancing cloud adoption, performance, resilience, security, control and commercial efficiency
- Establish robust standards for observability, capacity planning, incident management, disaster recovery, service reliability and operational readiness
- Develop senior engineering managers, strengthen succession planning and create clear accountability across Infrastructure Engineering, TechOps, SRE, DevOps, IT Automation and Core Technology
- Partner with trading, research, software engineering, security and business leadership to translate organisational requirements into scalable platform capabilities
- Own strategic suppliers, partner-delivered services, technology investment decisions and the execution of major platform transformation programmes
What You’ll Bring…
- 12+ years of experience across platform, infrastructure, SRE, DevOps or core technology engineering, including senior leadership of sizeable technical organisations
- A minimum 2:1 degree from a Russell Group university, or a comparably strong international institution, in Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant technical discipline
- Proven success building, consolidating or transforming complex engineering functions through managers and senior technical leaders
- Deep technical credibility across Linux, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, networking, storage, virtualisation and data-centre technologies
- Strong experience designing, implementing or scaling internal developer platforms and reusable engineering services
- Demonstrable ownership of Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, automation, CI/CD and modern software-led infrastructure practices
- A strong record improving resilience, performance, observability, security, capacity management and operational maturity across critical systems
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the credibility to influence CTO-level leadership and highly technical engineering teams
- (Preferred) Experience within a leading hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, investment bank or similarly performance-sensitive technology environment
