Role Overview
We’re partnering with a highly sophisticated quantitative investment firm as it establishes a newly independent technology environment following a major organisational spinout. As part of this buildout, the firm is hiring a senior Windows infrastructure leader to design and own the core endpoint and identity architecture that supports the organisation’s global technology platform. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining the Windows ecosystem that underpins the firm’s user environment, working closely with security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and scalable. The position is highly visible internally and reports directly to the CTO, with responsibility for shaping architectural decisions across both on-premise and cloud environments.
While this role carries leadership responsibility within the EMEA region, it remains deeply hands-on. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the organisation’s Windows infrastructure architecture across on-premise and cloud environments
- Own the lifecycle management, configuration, and operational stability of Windows 11 and Windows Server environments
- Architect and manage identity services including Entra ID, hybrid Active Directory environments, and domain services
- Implement hybrid identity patterns including modern authentication and cloud-integrated domain services
- Lead infrastructure initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, and operational resilience across the Windows estate
- Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across endpoint and identity management workflows
- Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and operations teams on platform architecture and technology decisions
- Develop operational standards, documentation, and best practices for managing Windows infrastructure
- Provide technical leadership across infrastructure projects and support broader platform engineering initiatives
What You’ll Bring…
- 6-12 years’ experience in Windows infrastructure or systems engineering within complex enterprise environments
- Deep expertise in Windows Server and Windows 11 administration, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Strong experience with Microsoft cloud technologies including Azure, Intune, and Microsoft 365
- Proven experience designing and operating Entra ID / Azure AD hybrid identity environments
- Practical knowledge of hybrid domain architectures and modern authentication frameworks
- Strong scripting and automation capability using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph APIs
- Hands-on experience managing infrastructure across both cloud and on-premise environments
- A strong engineering mindset with a deep understanding of operating systems, networks, and infrastructure design
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams
- (Preferred) Experience leading infrastructure projects or acting as a senior technical authority within an engineering team
- (Preferred) Exposure to high-performance or highly automated technology environments
