Role Overview
We’re representing a world-leading quantitative investment firm seeking a highly capable technical generalist to join a high-trust Founder’s Office environment. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who can operate across software engineering, systems, automation and security, while supporting complex technology needs in a setting where expectations are extremely high.
The ideal profile is closer to an engineer with strong systems range than a traditional sysadmin. You’ll need to be comfortable writing code, solving unfamiliar technical problems, improving workflows through automation, and working across a wide range of technologies with discretion, precision and strong judgement. Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical problem-solver across a varied, high-expectation technology environment
- Build tools, scripts and lightweight applications that automate workflows and reduce manual effort
- Support and improve systems across Windows, Linux, macOS, mobile devices and user-facing platforms
- Troubleshoot issues across hardware, operating systems, applications, networks and cloud-adjacent environments
- Contribute to internal software, monitoring and administration tooling where bespoke solutions are needed
- Apply strong security practices across endpoints, systems, accounts, workflows and sensitive data
- Evaluate new technologies and determine where they can improve reliability, usability or productivity
- Use modern development tooling, including AI-assisted tools where appropriate, to accelerate delivery
- Participate in wider infrastructure, engineering and security initiatives across the organisation
- Operate with discretion, ownership and attention to detail in a highly visible environment
What You’ll Bring…
- 2-6 years’ experience across software engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure, security or technical generalist roles
- Strong coding capability in at least one language such as Python, PowerShell, C# or similar
- Comfortable with live programming-style technical interviews and hands-on problem solving
- Broad systems knowledge across Windows, Linux and/or macOS environments
- Practical information security experience, such as endpoint protection, vulnerability management, threat detection or secure configuration
- Experience building automation, internal tooling or small applications to improve operational workflows
- Exposure to cloud platforms, modern engineering workflows or infrastructure automation
- Strong troubleshooting ability across software, systems and infrastructure layers
- Ability to bridge engineering and systems administration rather than sitting narrowly in one lane
- High conscientiousness, strong attention to detail and a clear drive for technical excellence
- Excellent communication skills and the judgement required for a high-trust, user-facing environment
- (Preferred) Experience in demanding environments such as trading, financial technology, elite engineering firms or similar high-performance settings
- (Preferred) Strong academic performance or other evidence of exceptional achievement and follow-through
