Role Overview
We’re representing a technology-led proprietary trading firm with a highly sophisticated global engineering environment, supporting trading, infrastructure, data and security teams across multiple regions. The firm is looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join a specialist security engineering function, focused on building the infrastructure, automation and tooling that allows secure systems to scale without slowing engineering teams down. This is not a governance or policy role. You’ll be building production-grade platforms, improving delivery workflows, supporting cloud-native infrastructure and embedding security controls directly into developer and operator tooling.

Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based deployment workflows
- Develop tooling to support internal security, infrastructure and data platform initiatives
- Partner with security engineers to embed controls into development pipelines, including SAST, DAST and related tooling
- Support and improve secrets management and security infrastructure, including HashiCorp Vault-style platforms
- Enhance monitoring, observability and alerting across security-critical and infrastructure systems
- Automate operational and security workflows to reduce manual effort, risk and repeatable toil
- Support Kubernetes and Docker-based environments with a focus on secure configuration and runtime protection
- Assist with infrastructure and deployment-related incident response, root cause analysis and remediation
- Improve the reliability, scalability and security posture of internal platforms
- Work closely with platform, infrastructure, security and development teams across a high-calibre engineering environment
What You’ll Bring…
- 4+ years’ hands-on experience across DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, infrastructure engineering or DevSecOps, ideally in a high-calibre engineering environment
- Strong programming or scripting ability in languages such as Python, Go, Bash or similar
- Hands-on experience building, maintaining and improving CI/CD systems
- Some experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines
- Practical infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or comparable tooling
- Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk or equivalent
- Experience operating Kubernetes and containerised environments across multiple clusters or environments
- Strong Linux systems knowledge and a solid grasp of networking fundamentals
- Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP or hybrid infrastructure environments
- Understanding of core security principles including secrets management, least privilege, vulnerability management and secure configuration
- Ability to independently own technical work from problem definition through to delivery
- (Preferred) Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks such as OPA, Sentinel, Checkov or similar
- (Preferred) Background in high-performance, trading, financial services, low-latency or similarly demanding technical environments
