Role Overview
We’re representing a technology-led proprietary trading firm with a highly sophisticated global engineering environment across trading, infrastructure, data and security. The firm is looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join a small security-embedded engineering team, building the systems, tooling and infrastructure that help the security function scale reliably.
This is traditional DevOps work in a security context: Linux, cloud, pipelines, automation, reliability and internal tooling, with meaningful exposure to security engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and improve infrastructure, tooling and systems supporting the security engineering function
- Own DevOps work across Linux, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, reliability and observability
- Build robust systems that reduce operational risk, manual effort and future incident volume
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, likely every other week, with low expected incident frequency
- Improve monitoring, alerting and reliability across security-critical infrastructure
- Support Kubernetes, Docker and containerised environments where relevant
- Work closely with security engineers to apply DevOps practices directly within a security environment
- Assist with infrastructure or deployment-related incident response, remediation and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with security, platform, infrastructure and development teams across a high-calibre engineering environment
What You’ll Bring…
- 4+ years’ hands-on experience across DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, infrastructure engineering or DevSecOps
- Strong Linux systems experience and confidence working across production infrastructure
- Solid cloud infrastructure experience across AWS, Azure, GCP or hybrid environments
- Broad DevOps tooling exposure across CI/CD, automation, infrastructure, reliability and observability
- Strong programming or scripting ability in Python, Go, Bash or similar
- Practical infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or comparable tooling
- Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, DAST or related tooling
- Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk or equivalent
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker or containerised production environments
- Genuine interest in security and willingness to work deeply within a security engineering team
- Comfortable supporting a regular 24/7 on-call rotation, with the maturity to build systems that reduce call-outs over time
- (Preferred) Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks such as OPA, Sentinel, Checkov or similar
- (Preferred) Experience supporting secrets management or security infrastructure, including HashiCorp Vault-style platforms
- (Preferred) Background in high-performance, trading, financial services, low-latency or similarly demanding technical environments
