Job Description

[Up to c. $250k Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus | Hybrid Working]

Role Overview

We’re representing a global investment management firm hiring into the infrastructure team behind its trading, market data and research platforms. This is a hands-on Linux engineering role focused on low-latency co-location environments, RHEL-based market data infrastructure and third-line ownership across production systems. The role suits a senior Linux engineer with deep trading infrastructure experience: someone comfortable tuning servers for throughput and latency, troubleshooting packet-level issues, working with market data vendors and improving monitoring, automation and operational resilience...

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer, maintain and upgrade Linux infrastructure across co-located trading and market data environments
  • Support RHEL-based market data systems used across latency-sensitive investment platforms
  • Troubleshoot packet loss, feed gaps, data-quality issues and performance anomalies using packet captures
  • Work with vendors, exchanges and internal teams on protocol changes, upgrades and production incidents
  • Tune Linux systems for low-latency, high-throughput workloads, including kernel-bypass technologies
  • Build automation and repeatable infrastructure workflows using Ansible, Terraform and scripting
  • Improve monitoring and observability across infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana and streaming data tooling
  • Provide senior-level escalation support for production Linux and market data systems

What You’ll Bring…

  • 8+ years’ Linux/Unix systems engineering experience, ideally across RHEL environments
  • Strong experience supporting HFT, market data or co-location infrastructure
  • Hands-on exposure to third-party feed handlers, market data capture systems or ticker plant environments
  • Experience engaging directly with exchanges, market data vendors or infrastructure vendors
  • Deep understanding of Linux performance tuning for low-latency and high-throughput systems
  • Experience with kernel-bypass/low-latency networking technologies such as Exanic, Solarflare or equivalent
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across packet captures, multicast, TCP/UDP and infrastructure performance
  • Automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Bash and Python
  • Monitoring and instrumentation experience across Prometheus, Grafana or similar platforms
  • Experience working with Git-based repositories and CI/CD workflows
  • (Preferred) Cloud provisioning or hybrid infrastructure experience
