Role Overview
We’re representing a leading electronic trading technology firm hiring a senior Security Architect into a growing information security function. This is a high-impact IC role focused on shaping and delivering practical security architecture across cloud, product, API, endpoint, infrastructure and application environments. The business needs someone technical enough to define, build and land security solutions, not someone who only advises from the sidelines. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders across security, engineering, infrastructure, product, risk and the business to improve secure design across complex financial markets technology. Key Responsibilities
- Lead security architecture across a key business area, shaping secure design standards and technical direction
- Design and deliver practical security solutions across cloud, product, API, endpoint, infrastructure and application environments
- Partner with engineering, product and infrastructure teams to embed security into roadmaps, delivery plans and system design
- Run architecture reviews across applications, platforms and infrastructure to identify risks, design gaps and improvement areas
- Prioritise remediation activity across vulnerabilities, controls and architectural weaknesses in partnership with technical teams
- Create reusable security patterns, design blueprints and control templates that support consistent secure delivery
- Support threat modelling, secure design reviews and application security discussions where deeper technical input is required
- Work with risk, compliance, audit, regulatory and client-facing stakeholders to explain security posture, controls and risk decisions
- Build strong business context so security recommendations remain practical, proportionate and commercially aligned
What You’ll Bring…
- 8+ years’ information security experience across engineering, architecture or senior technical security roles
- 4+ years’ experience operating as a security architect, product security partner or senior security design lead
- Strong hands-on security architecture experience, with evidence of designing and delivering real technical solutions
- Broad understanding across cloud security, application security, API security, endpoint, infrastructure and product security
- Strong knowledge of secure architecture patterns, security controls, technical requirements and risk trade-offs
- API security tooling, API gateway/security controls or product security experience
- Experience leading threat modelling, architecture reviews or secure design assessments across complex systems
- Secure code review experience, or enough application security depth to work credibly with software engineering teams
- Financial services, fintech, trading technology or market infrastructure experience
- (Preferred) Knowledge of GDPR, RegSCI, NIST, CIS, ISO or similar regulatory/control frameworks
- (Preferred) Relevant certifications across SANS, CompTIA, cloud security, application security or security architecture
