Job Description

[Up to c. £225k Comp Package (or equivalent) | On-Site Working]

Role Overview

A high-performing specialist investment manager is looking for a senior End User Computing Engineer to join a trusted technology group supporting senior stakeholders, VIP traders, portfolio managers and business-critical users. This is not a standard desktop support role. It sits at the point where Windows engineering, endpoint automation, device lifecycle ownership, executive technology enablement and internal product thinking meet. You’ll help ensure users across the firm’s global offices have well-configured, current and performant devices, while improving the standards, automation and processes that underpin the wider EUC estate. The role suits someone who thinks in standards rather than one-offs, can move between hands-on troubleshooting and project delivery, and wants real ownership of the endpoint environment rather than purely reactive support...

Key Responsibilities

  • Own complex Windows, endpoint and device lifecycle engineering issues across a fast-moving investment environment
  • Work directly with senior stakeholders, VIP traders and portfolio managers to understand unusual requests, assess feasibility and shape workable technical options
  • Own the end-to-end device experience for business-critical users, including white-glove provisioning, pre-staged hardware, same-day replacement and proactive remediation
  • Manage and improve the MDM estate across Intune and Jamf, including policy configuration, compliance baselines, app deployment, automated enrolment and remediation
  • Build prototypes, PoCs, automations and workflow improvements that can scale beyond one-off user requests
  • Own build automation through Intune, WDS and related endpoint deployment tooling
  • Improve device builds, endpoint standards, Windows baseline configurations, application delivery, patch compliance and platform reliability
  • Support executive and VIP technology needs with confidence, discretion and strong written follow-through
  • Troubleshoot root cause across Windows, Microsoft 365, Intune, hybrid AD, Entra ID / Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS and wider infrastructure touchpoints
  • Reduce manual toil across the EUC estate through PowerShell, scripting, automation and better engineering patterns
  • Provide L3 escalation support to the Service Desk for device, configuration, endpoint and MDM issues requiring deeper engineering ownership
  • Produce clear documentation, including build guides, runbooks and device standards that others can follow without hand-holding
  • Contribute to EUC project workstreams, including standardisation initiatives, tooling improvements and new technology rollouts

What You’ll Bring…

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience across EUC, endpoint engineering, senior desktop engineering or user-facing infrastructure support
  • Demonstrable ownership of MDM, endpoint standards and device lifecycle management at meaningful scale
  • Experience supporting senior executives, trading floors, investment teams or other high-pressure user groups
  • Strong academic background, ideally from a Russell Group university or international equivalent
  • Strong Windows 10/11 knowledge, including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, baseline builds and platform standardisation
  • Deep experience across Microsoft 365, Intune / Endpoint Manager, hybrid Active Directory, Entra ID / Azure AD and Group Policy
  • Experience with Intune policy configuration, compliance baselines, app deployment, automated enrolment and remediation
  • Experience with Windows Autopilot, WDS, PSADT, MS Graph, SCCM / MECM, Jamf or endpoint-security tooling
  • Experience with software packaging, patch management, device imaging and endpoint fleet health reporting
  • Confident scripting or automation skills, ideally with PowerShell and exposure to Python or C#
  • Strong documentation discipline, including clear runbooks, build guides, device standards and handover notes
  • Strong communication skills, especially around root cause, trade-offs, tactical fixes and longer-term improvements
  • (Preferred) Background in hedge funds, smaller financial institutions, specialist MSPs or live/broadcast technology environments, with exposure to Bloomberg, market data platforms, macOS / Jamf, networking fundamentals or other financial desktop applications
