Job Description

[Up to c. $350k Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus | Hybrid Working]

Role Overview

We are representing a major global financial institution seeking a senior cybersecurity leader to support its Americas business and technology organisation. This person will operate at the intersection of commercial leadership, technology delivery, cyber risk and regulatory oversight. You will provide business-aligned security direction, influence senior stakeholders and ensure that material risks are understood, owned and resolved without unnecessarily slowing innovation or market activity...

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal cybersecurity adviser to senior business and technology leaders across designated business divisions
  • Translate enterprise security strategy, policy and risk appetite into clear priorities for the supported organisation
  • Evaluate cyber risks across business processes, applications, infrastructure, data, third parties and technology change
  • Present technical exposures in commercial, operational and regulatory terms to support informed executive decisions
  • Challenge control weaknesses and establish pragmatic remediation plans with accountable business and technology owners
  • Track material findings through to closure, escalating delays, residual risk or inadequate treatment where required
  • Partner with engineering, architecture, application security, IAM, data security, infrastructure and incident-response teams
  • Advise on major programmes, new products, technology investments and security-control design
  • Produce meaningful risk reporting, metrics and executive-level insight rather than purely operational dashboards
  • Maintain awareness of emerging threats, regulatory expectations and market developments affecting financial institutions
  • Support security education and engagement across the business to strengthen ownership of cyber risk

What You’ll Bring…

  • 8+ years of information or cybersecurity experience, including senior responsibility for security risk across a regulated business, technology division or major product organisation
  • Strong financial-services experience gained within an investment bank, broker-dealer, exchange, asset manager or similarly regulated institution
  • Proven ability to advise and influence senior executives, technology leaders, control functions and delivery teams
  • Broad knowledge spanning application security, infrastructure and network security, IAM, data protection, cloud risk, incident response and third-party security
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, challenging control design and driving complex remediation across multiple accountable teams
  • Strong understanding of US financial-services regulation and supervisory expectations, including SEC and FINRA considerations
  • Ability to convert complex technical findings into clear business impact, ownership decisions and proportionate treatment plans
  • Evidence of leading security initiatives across organisational boundaries without relying solely on direct authority
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in cybersecurity, technology, computer science or a related discipline
  • (Preferred) Experience supporting Equities, electronic trading, Global Markets or systematic-trading environments
  • (Preferred) CISSP, CISM, CRISC or an equivalent recognised security qualification
