Key Responsibilities
- Operate, secure and improve network infrastructure supporting business-critical trading and corporate systems
- Balance day-to-day network security operations with longer-term engineering and infrastructure projects
- Design and deliver network and security infrastructure for new business units, systems and technology initiatives
- Implement and support firewalls, VPN platforms, SASE, IDS, IPS, NDR and network segmentation controls
- Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, connectivity and security issues across hybrid infrastructure
- Analyse packet captures and network traffic to investigate incidents and identify root causes
- Automate repetitive operational and security workflows using Python or comparable scripting tools
- Participate in a light global on-call rotation, including occasional evening or weekend support
What You’ll Bring…
- Around 6-10 years of combined network engineering and network security experience, with meaningful hands-on responsibility across both areas
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP, UDP, IP, the OSI model and Layer 1, 2 and 3 troubleshooting
- Production experience with firewalls, client VPNs, SASE, IDS, IPS, NDR and network segmentation technologies
- Ability to diagnose complex network behaviour through packet analysis and end-to-end troubleshooting
- Scripting or programming capability with Python or a comparable language, ideally used to automate operational processes
- Strong communication skills and the maturity to raise issues early when working with a remotely based manager
- Comfort operating independently in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities and occasional ambiguity
- [Preferred] CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE or equivalent knowledge, alongside experience in financial services, trading or high-availability technology
