Job Description

[Up to c. $225k Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus | *Remote Working - Tri-State Area Preferred]

Role Overview

We’re representing a market-leading financial technology organisation whose electronic marketplaces support banks, investment managers, hedge funds and other institutions globally. The business is expanding its use of generative AI across engineering, data and enterprise workflows and requires a senior architect to establish the controls that enable adoption without compromising resilience, confidentiality or client trust. This is a senior individual-contributor and advisory position within information security. You will define the AI security direction, produce reusable architectures for LLM, agent, RAG and machine-learning platforms, and influence technical, risk and executive stakeholders across a highly regulated environment...

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise AI security strategy, architectural roadmap and target control model across emerging and established AI platforms
  • Design reusable security architectures for generative AI, LLM applications, autonomous agents, RAG services and machine-learning infrastructure
  • Lead end-to-end architectural assessments spanning models, training and retrieval data, APIs, cloud services, orchestration layers, plugins and enterprise applications
  • Threat model AI systems using methodologies such as MITRE ATLAS, OWASP guidance, STRIDE and practical attack-simulation techniques
  • Define mitigations for prompt injection, model poisoning, data leakage, model theft, excessive agency, insecure tooling and AI supply-chain compromise
  • Establish secure MLOps, model-governance and deployment standards covering development, testing, approval, monitoring, change and retirement
  • Provide design authority across workload identity, privileged access, secrets, encryption, data protection, telemetry, Kubernetes and cloud-native security
  • Partner with engineering, cloud, DevSecOps, data science, privacy, legal, compliance and audit teams while communicating material risks to senior leadership

What You’ll Bring…

  • 10+ years across security engineering and architecture, including recent ownership of complex enterprise security designs
  • Direct experience securing production generative AI, LLM, agentic, RAG or machine-learning platforms rather than purely policy-led AI governance
  • Strong security architecture expertise across AWS, Azure or GCP, alongside APIs, Kubernetes, containers, application security and DevSecOps
  • Evidence of developing reference architectures, reusable controls, engineering standards and practical remediation patterns
  • Applied threat-modelling knowledge covering adversarial AI, model and data attacks, agent permissions and third-party AI integrations
  • Deep understanding of IAM, non-human identities, PAM, secrets management, encryption and sensitive-data controls
  • Ability to influence senior engineers, business leaders, risk functions, auditors and other non-technical stakeholders
  • (Preferred) Financial-services or fintech experience, knowledge of NIST AI RMF and ISO 42001, and relevant CISSP, CCSP, SABSA or cloud-security qualifications
