Role Overview
We’re representing a leading quantitative research and technology organisation building the engineering foundations behind large-scale financial research. Its internal platforms support highly technical users operating complex, data-intensive workloads where reliability, automation and recoverability directly affect research productivity. Two appointments are being made within Core Infrastructure Engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Manager - Lead, coach and expand a team responsible for business-critical infrastructure platforms
- Manager - Set technical priorities across Terraform Enterprise, Jenkins, Active Directory, inventory systems and secured administrative access
- Balance operational commitments, incident escalation and longer-term automation or architectural improvements
- Improve delivery standards, on-call practices, documentation, service health and stakeholder transparency
- Own Terraform Enterprise operations including upgrades, resilience, backups, monitoring and user support
- Develop and maintain Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux services, bastion hosts and infrastructure inventory
- Operate and improve Jenkins infrastructure, pipelines and supporting integrations
- Automate provisioning, configuration, patching and service lifecycle processes using code and repeatable workflows
What You’ll Bring...
- Manager - Approximately 8+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, including meaningful people leadership
- Engineer - Approximately 4+ years operating enterprise infrastructure with clear end-to-end service ownership
- Strong practical knowledge across both Windows and Linux environments
- Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration automation and production CI platforms
- PowerShell, Python or comparable scripting capability
- Evidence of improving reliability, incident response, change control and operational engineering practices
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, senior stakeholders and service consumers
- (Preferred) Terraform Enterprise, HCL, CMDB or inventory platforms, certificate services, Kubernetes or service-management frameworks
