Role Overview
We’re representing a global financial institution strengthening how cybersecurity governance and assurance are delivered across multiple regions. This Director will sit within Security & Assurance and take ownership of a major operating-model transformation running alongside existing BAU commitments, with a mandate spanning governance, controls assurance, testing, reporting and automation.
The role is centred on turning an established regional capability into a more consistent global model. That includes building a scalable control-testing function, reducing manual oversight through automation, improving management information and helping mature practices travel effectively across different markets. It is suited to a senior cyber governance leader who combines enough technical depth to challenge control environments with the operating judgement, consulting skill and international leadership experience to make change land across distributed teams...
Role Snapshot
- Bring 10+ years across cybersecurity governance, technology risk, controls, assurance or transformation, with clear evidence of senior-level ownership in complex organisations
- Own delivery of the future governance and assurance operating model while maintaining effective BAU execution during the transition
- Establish and scale a continuous control-testing capability, including the move from third-party offshore delivery towards a permanent in-house model
- Drive automation of control monitoring, metrics and reporting, replacing manual activity with more repeatable and decision-useful mechanisms
- Define testing methodology, evidence standards, quality review, escalation and management reporting across the assurance lifecycle
- Lead adoption of common cybersecurity governance practices across international regions without losing sight of local operating and regulatory differences
- Bring strong knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and controls, with enough technical depth to challenge implementation rather than operating as a policy-only governance lead
- Translate complex control, risk and transformation issues into concise recommendations, roadmaps, business cases and executive-level reporting
- Lead and develop a distributed mix of governance, testing, reporting, controls and automation professionals, including senior contributors and offshore capability
- Demonstrate successful international delivery across different cultures and stakeholder groups, with the influence and communication skills to drive outcomes where direct authority may be limited
