Role Overview
We’re representing a global alternative investment firm looking to add a senior engineer to its New York end-user technology function as the organisation continues to expand its Windows and workspace engineering capability.
This is a hands-on engineering position centred on the virtual desktop and Windows user environment rather than a conventional support role. The successful hire will take meaningful ownership of the Citrix platform, desktop engineering standards, endpoint configuration and automation that underpin day-to-day technology for demanding investment, executive and corporate users. Role Snapshot
- Own and evolve the firm’s enterprise Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environment, including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, Director, NetScaler/ADC and MCS or PVS
- 5+ years of substantial workspace, EUC or desktop engineering experience, with genuine hands-on ownership of production Citrix environments
- Engineer the Windows 10/11 desktop estate across image management, configuration standards, patching, application delivery, hardening and endpoint lifecycle
- Use PowerShell to automate deployment, configuration, administration and recurring operational work rather than relying on manual processes
- Operate comfortably across SCCM/MECM and Intune for enterprise configuration, software deployment, patching and endpoint management
- Diagnose difficult Citrix and Windows issues spanning performance, authentication, connectivity and application delivery within highly available environments
- Work across Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID, MFA, certificates, DNS, DHCP and relevant networking fundamentals when resolving or designing workspace services
- Act as a senior technical escalation point while partnering effectively with infrastructure, networking, security and user-facing technology teams
- (Preferred) Bring Intune-based MDM/MAM experience across iOS or Android, including application protection, compliance, BYOD and mobile application deployment
- (Preferred) Experience supporting financial-services, trading or similarly time-sensitive users, alongside exposure to ControlUp, hybrid or cloud-hosted VDI and modern endpoint-security models
