Role Overview
We're representing a global investment banking organisation seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to support the infrastructure and technologies underpinning its enterprise security operations. The position sits within a broader technology and security environment, with responsibility for maintaining reliable protective controls across a complex financial services estate. This is a hands-on security platform engineering role, combining ownership of established tooling with the delivery of new integrations, upgrades and technology changes. The successful candidate will work across endpoint, network and monitoring environments, ensuring security systems remain effective, properly configured and operationally resilient.

Role Snapshot
- Bring 5+ years of relevant security or infrastructure engineering experience, with demonstrable ownership of enterprise security technologies
- Engineer, administer and improve platforms covering endpoint detection and response (EDR), security orchestration, network protection and centralised security logging
- Deliver security tooling deployments, upgrades, integrations and platform replacements, managing technical dependencies and implementation risks
- Work extensively with SIEM technologies, including log ingestion, monitoring integrations, configuration improvements and operational troubleshooting
- Apply strong networking fundamentals across DNS, IP connectivity, proxy infrastructure, next-generation firewalls and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions
- Maintain practical administration knowledge across Windows and Linux environments, including RHEL, together with VMware or comparable virtualisation technologies
- Develop scripts and automation to simplify platform management, improve repeatability and reduce manual operational effort, ideally using Python or PowerShell
- Investigate complex platform failures through systematic root cause analysis, supporting Security Operations during escalations requiring engineering expertise
- Take responsibility for technical documentation, configuration standards, risk communication and vendor coordination, operating independently across projects and BAU requirements
- (Preferred) Previous exposure to financial services, particularly regulated enterprise technology environments, or an earlier background in systems, networking or desktop infrastructure engineering
